The company lost Smart phone space in recent years, and was reported to have gone bankrupt in 2018. Despite all, the company isn’t gone and now is releasing a new device dubbed Gionee K6
A lot of us are familiar with Goinee. There was a time when they were well known in various countries, especially china, where their headquaters is located. But bad luck Fell on their side. Late in 2017, the company was reported to have gone Bankrupt as a result of unpaid debts and poor financial management. But rumor also has it that the manager gambled with the company's profit.
However, despite the set back, the company isn't gone yet. Last year 2019, they made a comback by launching several mid-range and entry-level smartphones. And now, in 2020, they are launching yet another smartphone and it is called the Gionee K6.
The Gionee K6 prides itself of mid-range specifications. It powered by the Helio P60 chipset, and is accompanied by 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The pricing starts at $112 and there are other variants with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage priced at $127 with the most expensive variant giving 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage and costs just $155. That’s an impressive package of specifications for that price point. You may not be happy with Helio P60, but the RAM and Storage configuration is simply amazing at this price point. It's even very much likely that Gionee isn't getting much profit from this handset.
The specifications mentioned above are built into a 6.2-inch LCD display with a waterdrop notch holding a 13MP selfie snapper. The smartphone also has a dual-camera setup on the rear with a 16MP snapper. Also, the back is equiped with a fingerprint scanner. The phone ships with Android 10 and has a 4,350mAh battery. But unfortunately, that nice battery capacity will be limited to 10W charging times.
If you don’t care about after-sales protection and software support, then this phone offers great value for money. The handset will be released in India in the coming weeks before going to some other parts of the world, and it is most likley going to sell well.
